SIFE-Students in Free Enterprise

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is all about serving those around us, locally and internationally. We are called to go out in the world and be disciples, helping our brothers and sisters in Christ; and this is exactly what our mission statement entails.  While SIFE is not strictly a business organization, we do implement business strategy into our service projects to achieve the most effective results, in the most efficient way.  Our organization does not only want to provide non-profit work to society, but rather we desire to approach serving others in a philanthropic way.  We strive to create sustainability for each company we work with, so that they may continue relying upon themselves for consistent income and not solely donations.

This Spring Break we are going to Honduras to work with Casa de Esperanza; 10 of us are joining with other college students to build houses, minister to the community, visit those who are without home, teach kids, help enroll children into private schools- by giving them supplies and book bags- feed the hungry, and most importantly be a friend to those who are in need.  We are also working with Hope Horizon this semester and helping create a more sustainable life style for the youth that they support.

Finally to sum up the year, we apply for competition, and present our projects to CEOs from around the country.  This year we are going to Chicago to compete for Regional champs, and hopefully advance to Nationals in May.  We, as a team, cannot wait to share the inspiration and encouragement that will be shared by the many projects we take part in!
